Title: Opportunity awaits, define who and what you are.

As we struggle with the adversities of racial injustice in this nation we must not forget to take hold of our destiny and not have it taken away by those who control this unjust system we are living in. If we fail to successfully navigate the pitfalls and obstacles of life here in the USA, we know what awaits us. It’s not pretty, it’s not healthy and it is even there waiting in the most important temple we must travel thru at an early age in our journey of life, our schools. They are occupied by police men who are ready to assault and arrest our young ones who they consider as being defiant. Already they are weeding us out preparing to destroy our future by pipelining us to the penitentiary. However, know our education is the most important thing we must accomplish thru to our early years of adulthood for it will open doors to great opportunities we cannot imagine as we progress in life.

We must know we are not alone. We must know that more than forty million Black people live here in the United States of America. Blacks are now the majority population of Brazil with close to one hundred million people and a white population of around ninety-three million. In Guyana a mineral rich country in South America Blacks are close to the majority. In Jamaica the Black population is about eighty percent of the total population. In Haiti blacks are also the majority population. Barbados, The Bahamas, Bermuda and in Sub-Sahara Africa blacks are the majority population.  Many of these countries are quickly developing and they need educated people to help them develop as they build their infrastructure to accommodate the development of business in their countries.

China has built railroads in Ethiopia and many other African countries as those nations seek to develop themselves from their colonial past to become prosperous black nations. What will be the role we African Americans play? We already know Europeans have tried to keep Africa and all other black nation underdeveloped. But it is time we recognize what we have. It is time we awake and see what we have. It is time we get up and start shaping our destiny? It is time we start developing our black nations.

Will the Black world develop while we languish here in the land of the free and home of the brave in penitentiaries? For that is the destination white America has for us as they have branded us as criminals. They are putting more police officers on our streets and create more laws to stymie our growth. They are handing out harsher sentences for minor things to keep us in jail longer. What is the destination you have for yourself?  Will you embrace education and use it as a means to develop your businesses and begin to trade with other black countries and nation as we begin a journey to achieve universal black prosperity around the globe. Many of our young people have an entrepreneurial spirit but they think getting rich overnight is the way to go. So, they take foolish, illegal risks such as becoming an illicit drug merchant and they eventually get killed or end up in the penitentiary for decades. Value yourself and your dream know that you have a lifetime to accomplish your dreams and it must not include risks that will lead you to spend anytime in jail.

Let us network, find out what other black countries need and supply them. Why should Ethiopia, Kenya, Angola and many of these Black countries which are constantly among the ten fastest developing countries in the world go to China to seek guidance in developing its highways and rail when we here in the United States have the know-how. Grab hold of the future to shape the black nations destiny.  By starting our own businesses and corporations. Africa and many black nations need help in developing, those are opportunities educated black people should be taking advantage off.  Know this for sure as the value in Africa rises, so too will the value of people who can trace their roots to that continent if they make a concerted effort to be part of that revolution. If we allow those opportunities to pass us by and Africa and other black nations become developed without our participation, we as a race will never recover from pass, present and future European exploitation. We will always be subservient.

We are linked regardless of where we were deposited during the time of slavery. It is up to us to recognize that and embrace each other so as not to be excluded from our greatest opportunity. Which is to achieve self-sufficiency and gain dignity and respect as a race of people.  We need to start a positive business and cultural revolution among our people all around the world. We must recognize that and make an all-out effort to uplift ourselves and people of our roots. We must begin to believe in us. We must embrace each other collectively as we move forward.  We must embrace education to a higher level and start creating for ourselves. Note their will always be the need of whites to divide and conquer. We must always recognize that and avoid to fall prey to their attempts. For they only desire to enslave us.

As a black person do you own a factory that manufactures something essential. We need to create factories to manufacture things needed. We must develop that and nurture that base. Then as it grows we must allow it to expand and manufacture things we want. Europeans has always prevented Africans from developing manufacturing technology. As African Americans we have been exposed to that technology let us use it for ourselves and teach it to black nations around.

Start thinking of doing that, branch out and take your manufacturing business to Africa and expand it throughout the black nations of the world. Or can you venture to Africa and create a manufacturing business, whites are doing it every day. Let us not lose our destiny by languishing in self-pity because of racism here in America. Let us succeed in spite of it. Let us not give all of our energies to protesting but use the majority to create business and expanding them to nations ruled by people of our colour. It is time we begin to set those goals and focus on achieving them.

Create your value by embracing education, become an engineer if you want to strike out to Africa to help shape and develop that continent. They are building roads and rail to connect all 54 nations of Africa that is one of their goals. Make it one of your goal to see how you can become involved in that and making sure it becomes a reality. In Nigeria they are planning their own space program, did you know that? Kenya has launch their own homemade satellite and have plans on launching more. Rwanda has more high-tech start up than Silicone Valley. Take a look at the many cities of Africa and you will see they are not joking, they are moving ahead. These are African nations. They had to fight to gain independence from imperialist Europe many died in the process, now they are moving on to develop their countries after Europe kept them underdeveloped for centuries. It’s not all hunky-dory there in those countries but opportunities abound, recognize them.

Americans who can trace their roots to Africa get in the game and start yourself development, set your goals and shape your future. Your future should be tied to that continent or nations of the black diaspora. The opportunities could be much brighter there than here in the USA.

We as workers must get degrees in professional careers. In the US we must become attorneys and districts attorneys, legislators so we can make good laws, fair laws, laws that will be good for us and all Americans. With fair sentences and not be influence by shadow groups with deep pockets that are profiting from the mass incarceration of poor people. They will use their lobbyist to attempt to buy us off. But do not fall prey to those, let’s not sell off our brothers anymore for a few dollars.

Know this for sure you will not get there by selling drugs. You will not get there by being lock behind bars, incarcerated for life. You will not achieve it by refusing to pick up books to read and broaden our horizon. You will not achieve this by sleeping your life away or watching television all day. You will not achieve this by thinking of black countries as impoverished places you would rather not be associated with. You must have something to offer. Or they will have no need for you.  You must honestly embrace education and have a profession to offer to help them grow. You have to honestly embrace these emerging developing countries no matter their condition and help shape their future with some form of business. We have to get out there and start from scratch, nurture the growth knowing true wealth and development does not happen overnight but take a life time. We must grasp the opportunities being presented in our diaspora. Know this journey of life is not based on where you start but what you do with what you were given.

Embracing education also means coming to know yourself and your gifts. You may not have the ability to be a great artist but you can be a great businessman. Find what comes easy to you and work on developing that for that is your natural gift.  Do not make any decision or take any action that could be self-destructive or harm you or anyone. Remember you intended to be a person off value. Be true to yourself and embrace what you want to be. Define it and work on making it a reality. Research the path to your goals and plan and execute every step. The first black millionaire I know was a close friend of mine. From the time we were in high school he always said he would have his own business and he would be a millionaire. By his early thirties he had his own computer data processing company with major clients after working for years as a program analyst. He knew what he wanted to be, he always said it and he accomplished it.

We owe it to ourselves to develop the lands, countries, nations we are granted stewardship over so we can provide and trade with our people and others around the world. What we seek is respect from others and if we cannot attain it here under the protection of the law,  we must attain it through wealth. We are the most talented group of people in existence, due to our current situations to succeed we have to overcome so much but we are succeeding in greater numbers. We are born in single parent homes, without a silver spoon but that does not mean you are a failure or loser. It does not mean that you do not have dreams to succeed and be someone special. Acknowledge those dreams, know they are God given and although he may not provide the path to achieve them, know this to embrace them the path to their success will become apparent. Only you can make you succeed, so prepare to succeed, if not you are preparing to fail. We were not granted our forty acres and a mule as Abraham Lincoln wanted but our Creator gave us dreams. We must strive to achieve those dreams for success awaits us if we do.

We are great competitors and when we compete we usually win. Our world awaits us as many black nations are developing with the aid of others and their skin is not black. If you were to board a plane going to anywhere in Africa you will see that seventy percent of the people onboard are white. Most of them are not going there for good will, or vacation, they are expats going there to develop their business. The media in the USA wants you African Americans to believe that Africa is an impoverished, underdeveloped, hostile country but Africa is quickly developing. China is locating a lot of its manufacturing jobs there while they transition to become a market environment. Meaning Africa will develop to become a manufacturing giant in the future.

Yes, we are responsible for ourselves. The choices we make, the steps we take.  We were granted life and nothing else was promised to us. But know this you are someone special, it is now up to you to find out what makes you special. It starts with you giving yourself value and that start with your education. It continues with you accepting your dream be it to be a billionaire business man or a factory worker and everything else between. Remember to do it appropriately, lawfully, and do not become a victim to the pitfalls as you navigate yourself to your destiny.  Know yourself and what you want to be, accept and work to accomplish it. Devise a plan to take you step by step to your goal. For if you fail here in America the prisons await, incarceration awaits and once there you have lost all rights as an American. You cannot vote, you more than likely will not get a job when you get out, you cannot, you cannot, you cannot, you will hear that a lot after you have served your time. There is no closure and no forgiveness here in America for Black people after incarceration, it is a stigma and follows you.

We must know who and what you are. We must know where you are going and why? We must know when you have arrived. In America education on a whole is not the best for us black people but let us use it to get to where we can change it. You must not fear higher education and getting degrees from University for that is the real key to unlock the gate to a better life. They are profession like teachers, nurses, physician assistant, and many more careers that can guarantee you a great rewarding career with great income. Expose your children at an early age to the various careers out there let them know the requirement to achieving it and help them along the way. When they set off to the universities make sure they have chosen to be educated in career with great employment possibilities. You do not want them to get a degree in something that has few jobs and they end up working at a McDonalds. There is nothing more pleasing to the heart than seeing your child become successful and nothing more disheartening than to see them take up habits that lead to failure. Acknowledge and live your positive dream. It may not be easy but it is so gratifying.
