The next step in the goal to achieve self-reliance is to have as many black people venturing into business within their community as possible. Note if we look around our communities we see all other minorities getting wealthy from our dollars. They provide a service or have some kind of business that we support.  Yet still they do not support our community. They bleed our communities of its wealth through their businesses and contribute nothing in return. They disrespect us if we comment on their lack of support to our communities. At days end they flee our communities to the suburbs where they live a comfortable privilege life. The Koreans have taken hold of nail shops and produce groceries. The Dominicans have taken over the black beauty care.

Our Goal should be to create business here in the United States and to expand our businesses throughout the Black diaspora. Why you asked, because we must regain economic power here in America and throughout the Black diaspora. In America there is a habit of destroying black owned businesses by whites. To guarantee the survival of your business and preferable your business should be a manufacturing business of something essential to daily life you should expand your business to black nations around the world.  Many of these countries have built economic zones or parks providing a low wage educated workforce. Many have invited foreign investors to manufacture their products in such areas.  In so doing if the powers be in the USA decide to target your business within the borders of the US you could survive based on your company’s expansion to foreign markets.

We have allowed ourselves to be brainwashed by white supremacy. The Negro Leagues no longer exist because we bought into the idea of integration. The Negro league has dissolved into just a memory of a bygone era when we were separated and unequal but had to do for ourselves. We had our own businesses then. We owned our own supermarkets, stores, real estate’s agencies, laundromats, pharmacies, restaurants, etc. We were self-reliant because the laws of Jim Crow prevented us from shopping in white owned stores, eating in white owned restaurants. We had to create a parrel business community within our neighbourhoods so as to survive.

One of those was The Negro leagues. It was a baseball league with black owners and black players. They competed with Major League baseball, and when they played each other they often defeated the Major leagues teams. But we bought into the idea that what is white is superior to what we created. The stars of the Negro Leagues were snapped up in the integration of Major League Baseball. So, did many of our businesses when integration became the law of the land. Soon our supermarkets became bankrupt as whites move theirs into our communities with lower prices and black people supporting them instead of remaining loyal to theirs. We were force out of business. So, went our businesses the way of the Dodo bird.

We have seen the destruction of our business base in Tulsa Oklahoma (Black Wall Street) as well as the white community destroying our business by building infrastructure over them.  Our businesses based has long dried up and hardly any African Americans play on Major league teams anymore, we are being killed by KKK men dressed in blue, we now debated the benefits of integration.

Let us consider and give great thought and action to that growth instead of warring with the powers be. Let us be aware and remain awake to the distrustful characteristics of white supremacy and build our own fortune, creating our own wealth. From Africa to the Caribbean we are steward of some of the most mineral rich countries of the planet. It is time we take control of what we were granted and begin to shape our destiny starting with our communities. This time lets preserve what we create. Lets develop black nations through economic, education and political means.
