The Hypocrisy of the USA Part 1

I once was a Democrat now with the expansion of my horizon I am neither a Democrat or a Republican for I detest the behaviour or lack off, from both. A spineless group of men and women sit in Congress and label themselves Democrats with exception of Maxine Waters who they do not support for they think she is a loose cannon. She is a person who does not fear speaking her mind and stating things as is.  But the members of the other party are an unethical, immoral group who are called Republicans. The spineless group pretends to have morality and the best interest of the people at heart but they are a bit slow, uncertain, without confidence, ponderous, old and if you look you will see they harbour an abundance of racist history and corruption. The unethical, immoral group is exactly that, and they too have a long history of racist, misogynistic, corrupt, selfish behaviour and they are many more negative adjectives to describe their character and behaviour. However, they are also quick, clever, assertive and usually win their campaigns.  Where am I going with this? Like the rest of America, I am not sure because that is where we are, in uncertain periods.

However, back to majority Republican Congress who were so devious and deceitful during Obama era, they have now become the sheep in the meadow doing only as President Trump pleases or command them to do. They are scared shit of him. Paul Ryan the majority speaker of the lower house has gone into hiding and has told his fellow Republicans that he will retire at the end of his term, hence a dereliction of duty by hiding under his desk waiting to emerge when his term is up. In the meantime, he dares not say anything to upset Trump or his followers. McConnel the majority leader of the Senate is not much different and is now doing as Trump says fearing the backlash if he does not. When fear rules, it exposes the visceral makeup of men. I saw senator Bob Corker Republican senator stood up in the house knowing that it would lead to a fight with Trump and his growing number of supporters and denounce Trump’s plans and verbally abuse Trump. But it was all lip service without a bit.  However, I was excited to see someone was standing up to the Moran in chief. As I looked across the aisle of the house, disappointment set in as I saw no Democrats doing to Trump what the Republicans did to Obama while he was in office. I concluded that they are waiting for Mueller to do their dirty work for them.

What once work does not seem to work anymore. America needs to widen her horizons as she moves forward and the old thinking of the past will only hinder her growth. America has become more diversified and needs to reflect that in its thinking instead of being conservative by holding onto the pass which will only allow the rest of the world to leave us behind. We need a strong supportive Congress free of dog whistle terms that connotate racist thoughts. We need a leader of the Executive branch that believes in the constitution and needs to enhance all its short comings. We need an America that is inclusive of all her people, protecting their rights of life liberty and justice. We need a leader that will champion the injustices of the DOJ with reforms to laws that inadvertently target an ethnic or racial group causing a disproportionate number of ethnic and racial groups of people being incarcerated in high numbers in comparison to the larger population. I remember while in high school saying the Pledge of the Legions, I wonder if it is still said?  Anyway, as I remember this is what it says. ‘I pledge the Legions to the flag of the United States of America and the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God indivisible with liberty and Justice for all.’ We are no longer indivisible, and we never grant equal justice for all.  Those two short coming and the fight to retain that way is leading us down a destructive path. They only way to recover is to take those words to heart and treat all Americans equally.  There should be no white privileges if Blacks and other minorities cannot have them.

As we witness many of former President Obama’s legacy laws being undone we begin to accept the lack of compassionate that goes with this administration especially its disregard for health care for the population. We observe the strong bond between it and the NRA as we see the ongoing crisis of gun violence all across the land. It appears to stand in the way of us progressing as a nation and getting some form of control over gun violence, But as I look around I notice those who have and want guns have the ear of those in Congress through the support of the NRA and it lobbyist groups.  We have come to accept that as a way of life in America as the opportunities for sensible changes slips away due to the wealth of the gun lobby. Our discourse has become laden with crass words and lies has come to take the place of facts. As a nation we have come to accept lower moral standards in all our dealings as it is the way of our popular commander in chief.
